About Stockwatch

Stockwatch answers one question well: what would a lump sum invested in an Indian listed company on a given date be worth now? Every page is a record of what prices actually did — no tips, no target prices, no predictions.

What we cover

728 companies listed on the NSE, each with at least three years of daily price history. Companies with a shorter record are left out: a returns page built on a few months of prices would not be worth reading. Prices run to 11 Sep 2026.

Where the data comes from

End-of-day open, high, low, close and volume for each trading day, sourced through a licensed broker API and stored daily. Company names come from the NSE's own list of equities. Market capitalisation is a recent figure, not a historical one, and is shown for scale rather than for calculation.

How splits and bonuses are handled

A share split or bonus issue changes the price without changing what a holder owns. If that is not corrected, a 1:10 split looks like a 90% crash. Stockwatch takes corporate actions from a published list rather than guessing them from the price chart, and adjusts earlier prices only where the stored series still carries the step. Where an event cannot be resolved confidently — a demerger, or a ratio that does not match the record — the company is left out of the site entirely rather than shown with a number we cannot stand behind. Any adjustment applied to a company is named at the bottom of its page.

How often it updates

Prices are refreshed every trading evening after the close. If that process fails, pages carry a visible warning rather than presenting old prices as current.

What we do not do

Stockwatch is not a broker, not a research analyst, and not registered with SEBI. Nothing on the site is advice or a recommendation. Returns shown exclude dividends, brokerage, taxes and other charges. Please read the full disclaimer.

Who runs it

Stockwatch is built and maintained by an independent software developer in India, as a personal project. Questions and corrections are welcome — get in touch.
